General Practice: “COUNSELOR at Law/Problem Solver”
A problem well put is half solved
– John Dewey
Kevin has developed a general practice where he is very much a COUNSELOR at law. Attorneys are professional problem solvers. Generally, clients seek legal advice either to prevent a problem or to recover from one. Often, a conversation with a prospective client begins with, ”I have a problem. Can you help me?”.
It is often said that we are a society of “laws”. Indeed, the “law” impacts us in so many ways….From traffic law when we drive, to tort law when we are injured; from employment law as we work to divorce law when families are broken. Laws impact us before we are born all the way through beyond when we die.
It is impossible for any single attorney to be an “expert” in every single facet of the law. Indeed, Kevin’s in depth legal experience centers primarily around real estate and business law. However, over the last 30+ years of his professional career, Kevin has developed a skill set that has allowed him to guide clients in even their most seemingly complex circumstances to an understandable pathway and solution.
Whether it is to write a will, deal with a custody issue, or simply listen to a “problem” with an attentive ear, Kevin has fielded a plethora of issues for people. Further, in these past 30+ years, he has built a professional network of acquaintances, both within and outside the legal field that, if he does not know the “answer”, per se, he usually has a good idea whom to call.
Much of what Kevin does in this arena is to help clients synthesize their circumstances and thoughts. Once he has helped them to crystalize their circumstances if he is unable to adequately advise them, he not only refers them to an appropriate professional, he remains open to be in a collaborative role in being a “sounding board” for the client, if needed.
